Quantum Alliance forms amid warnings 6.4 million bitcoin face future quantum threat

A newly formed Quantum Alliance, comprised of nine crypto companies, has been established with the goal of collectively preparing for potential future quantum attacks. The alliance's formation comes amidst warnings that approximately 6.4 million Bitcoin could face a quantum threat. However, there is internal disagreement among the alliance members regarding the timeline for when this quantum threat is expected to materialize and, crucially, whether Bitcoin that is deemed vulnerable should be frozen in response to such an event.
